NOVO 22WS ACTIVE AREA: 355mm x 426mm (14” x 16.8”)

Thickness of Detector panel is 15.6mm (.6")
DETECTOR WEIGHT
NOVO 15WS: 3.5 lbs (1.6kg)
NOVO 22WS: 6.1 lbs (2.8kg)
DETECTOR RESOLUTION
Detectors are based on 148µm Pixel Size (3.4 lp/mm) – due to the low noise level of NOVO detectors as well as high dynamic range, the signal to noise level ratio is very high, allowing to achieve a very high resolution in field conditions.
Note that resolution in radiography is not a fixed value – it depends on what and how you make the inspection- e.g. overall type and thickness of the containing material as well as the shape and materials of the “small” object you wish to see – e.g. a wire inside a steel pipe bomb.

MORE ON RESOLUTION:
148 µm pixel size is the ideal combination of resolution and light gathering capabilities (the smaller the pixel size the higher the theoretical resolution but the lower light gathering capability which translates to higher noise level relatively to the light– which results in reduced resolution and penetration in real life scenarios).

As almost always an object inspected involves “penetrating” a material (e.g. wire in a box, fuse in a bomb etc.), the signal to noise ratio of the detector will greatly influence the actual size of items you can identify. The highlight of the NOVO detectors is outstanding signal to noise ratio (based on the latest 16-bit technology) so the image quality produced by the detectors (together with NOVO's unique automatic calibration process and the Genie automatic enhancing tool) will outperform other systems in the market.  In real life scenarios, you may identify objects that are significantly smaller than the detector’s pixel size.
PORTABILITY AND CASE EXTERNAL DIMENSIONS
All NOVO systems are portable.  One hard case and three backpack configurations are currently offered.

NOVO 15 URBAN: 5.11 Covrt 18 Backpack:  19" x 12.25" x 6.5"
NOVO 15 TACTICAL: S115 Pelican Backpack:  18" x 13" x 10"
NOVO 15/22 ROVER: Rugged iM2750 Pelican Case:  24.6" x 19.7" x 14.4"
NOVO 15/22 PATROL: Full Sized Backpack:  28" x 19" x 13"
SYSTEM OPERATING TIME
With a fully charged battery, the system will operate up to 16 hours when wired to the control box.
REMOTE OPERATION
The system can be remotely operated through all functions via wired or wireless communication. Frequencies are available when requested.
VARIABLE TIME DELAY
A variable time delay on the generator that is used by the EOD technician during hand-emplacement to prevent the generator from operating until the EOD technician has returned to the safe area.

A delay can be set for the desired time. Also remote activation of the X-ray source via a tablet is available.
WIRELESS CAPABILITY
Standard wireless operation is up to 400m. Range extender available if needed.
OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE COST
The system is designed for maintenance free operation as well as consumable free.
CABLE LENGTH BETWEEN SUBSYSTEMS
Standard Communication cable is 50m long for the Rover and Patrol systems; 20m for the Tactical system.  Longer cables (up to a total of 300m) are available.
FILE MANAGEMENT
Images are stored on the tablet's internal SSD drive.  Images are easily transfered to flash drive or CD drive via USB port.
IMAGE ACQUISITION TIME
The time it takes to fully transmit an image to the OCU that can be manipulated, when the image is produced with a single imager.  Time starts at the end of the generator cycle and stops when the image is visible on the OCU screen.

NOVO 15W Detector: ~1 second
NOVO 22W Detector: ~2 seconds
IMAGE ORIENTATION INDICATOR
Positive indication of the orientation of the image with respect to the imager as it was originally placed at the target.
The NOVO Touch Software allows rotation of the image on the display to match detector orientation.
INTEROPERABILITY
The ability to be emplaced and/or employed through ground robotic platforms.
MILITARY STANDARD
Standard 10" Panasonic Toughpad Tablet is MIL-STD-810G.

System Connectors are MIL-DTL 38999

In addition, the system is designed to operate in all weather conditions, detectors are 70cm (27.6”) drop tested and 150kg (330 lbs) load proof.

System is solid state.
PENETRATION WITH GOLDEN ENGINEERING SOURCE
Steel penetration tests were made with identifying 2mm of lead behind solid steel. Golden source was 25cm from detector:
NOVO 15WS/22WS & XRS-3 Source – over 85mm of steel
NOVO 15WS/22WS & XR200/XR150 Source – over 50mm of steel
